Edge B Classwork

Wednesday, March 26

Today, you will do an exercise on apostrophes to practice yesterday's grammar lesson, and you will continue drafting your essay. I'll be back tomorrow (Thursday).
  1. First, click here and do the Grammar Bytes exercise on apostrophes. Remember, you need to copy the sentences correctly onto a piece of binder paper. Ms. Price will collect completed exercises.
  2. Then, finish typing your essay. If you need help with this, please ask Ms. Price. I'll be logging in during 4th period to check on your progress and leave comments. I've noticed that only a few of you have started typing, so I hope to see everyone typing today.
  3. After you finish typing, share your essay with someone else and have them share with you. Leave comments on each other's essays. Correct for spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.
  4. Please don't forget to clean up and put everything away neatly before lunch!

Here is today's lesson plan:
  1. Read this letter.
  2. Get out your Grammar & Writing Practice Book and complete pages 103-106. Have Ms. Price stamp it when you are done.
  3. Take out your Argumentative Essay packet.  If you have not yet filled in the frames for your argumentative essay, do so now. Create a new document in Google Drive and share it with me at lbigelow@natomasunified.org. Type your essay. I'll be logging in during 4th period to check on your progress and leave comments.
  4. If you have finished all of the above, share your essay with someone else and have them share with you. Leave comments on each other's essays. Correct for spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.

Monday, March 24

Hi everyone,

I'll be gone for 3 days. My daughter is in the hospital, but she should be released on Wednesday, and I expect to be back in the classroom on Thursday. While I am gone, you'll have very specific tasks to complete every day, so no slacking!

Today, you will do an exercise on irregular verbs, and you will begin drafting your essay.
  1. First, click here and do the Grammar Bytes exercise on irregular verbs. Remember, you need to copy the sentences correctly onto a piece of binder paper. Our new student Andres might need help with this since he hasn't done it before, so will someone please help him? Thanks! Ms. Price will collect completed exercises.
  2. When you are finished, take out your argumentative essay packet. Finish filling in the frames if you haven't done so already.
  3. If you have finished filling in the frames, show them to Ms. Price so she can stamp them. Then, you may begin typing. Create a new document in Google Drive and share it with me at lbigelow@natomasunified.org. Type your essay. I'll be logging in during 4th period to check on your progress and leave comments. (I have my laptop with me in the hospital.)
  4. Please don't forget to clean up and put everything away neatly before lunch!
